Can you still get to Stonecliffe from Rolphton? Trail is tagged RED. Looking to stay in Rolphton and sled towards Stonecliffe this weekend.

Cold weather is coming for the weekend so trails should go back to green.

Thanks Daryl,

May want to go from there as the last time I was in Rolphton the trail to missing link was trashed. Side trails were fantastic however!! with the freeze up they should have the snow needed to groom. Hope so!

Default Rolphton last Sunday

Guys,

I was there last Sunday. Dropped off at Rolphton for breakfast, then 4 of us took A101Q down to A, to 193 around west to A, then A northwest to Stonecliffe for gas and snacks. Then 198 back SE to A to catch 195, then the A northwest 197 loop up to Deux Riviers, then we blasted back on A trail to Rolphton. 180km left Rolphton at 10am or so, and we were back just after 4pm.

Poker run was the day before, and if I recall correctly with front end of 191 was a bit beaten up but one groom it would have been fine. My suspension was set for 2up and I didn't even set it down so it was no problem. Stopped by to chat with groomer guys who had their big Ford New Holland track changing an idler wheel.

Bissett Creek road shows Red right now. I don't know how bad it was I didn't think a week of sun would do much harm but maybe too much dirt showing through... I am not sure what the deal is with that. It was hard to tell it wasn't a logging road except for some actual people's houses on it

It was my first time in the area so I have to admit I was doing a lot of gawkin and after a week its a bit fuzzy. I am trying to remember which trail had the big rocks -- seemed as though they were dragged from underneath the snow. I am pretty sure it was just after Bissett Creek Road on the logging road; it seemed to me they were pretty big for that without any snow craters nearby. Perhaps there's not as much base on those logging roads as I thought. I'd ask on their Spacebook page...

Its beautiful territory up there and an unexpected last trip for the year in all likelyhood.

Enjoy guys

Thank you Guys for the info. Trailer is loaded and will be heading up this afternoon. Looks like a cold day of riding tomorrow. I am just happy to get out again, not ready for 8 months of bad snowmobiling weather.

North Renfrew trails reopened limited on Thursday but trails 130, 136 & 137 remain CLOSED. I was out yesterday from A-trail from Rolphton to Deep River, 131, 134, 132 were in great shape! There was enjoy lubrication for the sliders. Park & Ride are in Chalk River & Deep River & Rolphton, locations are on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs under POI - Parking & on www.nrsa under the ABOUT tab.

Rode out of Deep River PnR today. Hats off KCC and the local volunteers. Top shelf setup! Signage, maps, map board, groomed right to the PnR.... and awesome groomed trails under sunny blue sky, does it get any better?

130 mile circle of A, 193, 195, 197 and lunch/touch of gas in Rolphton

The base is solid... so trails conditions will not change much all week IMO based on the forecast I C . Met 80 sleds and no damage to the base at all.

Poo ran 135 to 160F all day.. no issues there keeping relatively cool.

The red section of 197 in Missing Link is 99% ice covered. Not sure if there is any other reason to mark this road red, but it is not due to snow coverage. It is icy though if that is of any concern to you.

Saw a lynx in the 197. It sat and watched us 10 yards off the trail.. we drove away after 90 seconds .. very cool and rare to see.

Best to have studs.. my buddy was whining his 1.75" track was sliding around... my setup was on rails.. and he always whines about something :-)

Load that trailer and enjoying March riding... best conditions of the year after two months of filling the dips.

Time for some pints and HNIC

Rode from Pembroke to Mattawa overnight and back today. Petewawa north was fantastic. Lots of base in the hills and will be good for weeks yet I would think.

To bad the OFSC would not provide accurate, daily, trail conditions.
There appear to be a lot of pissed off snowmobilers this season, and the reason is, trails are marked red, yet sledders are reporting great trail conditions.
Are we to assume all trails are open, regardless of what the OFSC trail guide is telling us ? The season is short enough as it is, without the OFSC creating so much confusion for sledders that are trying to go by the rules.
I guess if the gates aren,t up, and locked, all sledders should assume that the trails are useable, and take their chances.
The OFSC needs to update ALL TRAILS on their guide daily.
