I would not chance it yet Guido. One sled went through north of Hurst.....crazy to be on the river there. Guy is fine but the fishes will enjoy the sled im sure. We need some serious COLD. Ice does not grow below snow

Lots of fun on the Nation this weekend probably 50-60 sleds out on Sunday.

Radar gun was kept busy and some racing going on.

No one fell thru.

We've been on here for probably 3 weeks now so it stays packed down. 8 inches of ice where we checked it.

Looks like we got away with minimal rain damage.

Back below zero later today... and cool for 4 or 5 days.

The quest to open up more wet and swamp trails continues. The clubs will need some volunteers to work in groups and bust open questionable areas, or then will never freeze.

Feel free to reach out, contact a trail coordinator, and lend a hand if interested in progressing the trail opening process

BEAST meets this Thursday @ 8 pm... details on the club website.

We just post this map and we now need to close the BEAST 203 to Barrhaven for good... which is another map update.

The "Walton Development and Management Canada" told us to fawk off.... they own a ton of farming land around Eagleson Rd north of Richmond.. and lease it back to the farmers.

On a positive note.. BEAST groomed A to Almonte last night.. first pass each way.. surprised we made it through 3 wet areas. Should be some hard trails this AM where yellow.

The trail packing of BEAST trails north of Miss Lk also started Friday to Lanark.. and will continue this weekend

The BEAST 308 to White Lk has had no action ( signage/trees... ) this fall.. if anyone wants to see it open.. step up and volunteer - own that trail opening process

Just curious why the beast trails dont appear on the OFSC conditions map? Beast 311 for example.

Hi.. the answer is simple.. . lack of volunteers to do map updates, and feed into the OFSC. It is coming... and could have been done in Oct. if more members would get involved and lend a hand.

The OFSC only know of trail info/churn if volunteers send in the changes.

Hi guys,

Just moved into the Manotick area and wondering if my best bet is to drive over to the Osgoode side of the Rideau because it seems like crossing the river in Kars will be a short lived part of the season or is the North Gower side more fun?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, all the trails around that area are fun. I feel the best spot to cross the Rideau is near the River Bend Restaurant near Osgoode. They usually put a tree line up there, when it is safe. Grab a map, and have fun getting to know the local trails.[
