FYI guys. Speed and fixed objects don't mix. Just slow down.

Man dies after snowmobile strikes tree near Belair

A 34-year-old Grand Marais man was killed just after midnight when the snowmobile he was driving hit a tree, RCMP report.
Police said the man was on the Northstar snowmobile trail about 16 kilometres into the bush from Highway 59 near Belair, Man. when the accident occurred.
Despite efforts by civilians who discovered the victim, paramedics, police and volunteers from the local fire department, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP said speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as contributing factors. Police said the name of the deceased will not be released.

My condolences to his family. Way too young to die, and it sounds like he was alone. Be careful out there.

It is very sad and he will be missed. But at this time it appears that what was reported may not be totally accurate. It was a friend of mine and his that found him.

That is so sad, only one year older than I than am. A buddy and I were also on that trail on Sat during the day. My condolences to his family as well.
