yes.. the SRX is a very detuned sled ,,clutching can gain alot with these sleds..you will get the F7 guys saying how they never lose but they just never run a well clutched SRX in the hands of an experience tuner,,,R2R

stock for stock with clutching the srx is 1550 hp? or 140...anyways the f7 is like 130ish...and a triple has longer legs top end...my vote goes to the srx if both are set up right...but in 660 ft the f7

Go onto TY and into the SRX forum...there are a bunch of guys that will give you clutching setups to make that SRX rock. I had a 99 SRX that was clutched very well, I always had trouble with F7s in a short race but like Lnetto32 said, they have long legs and like to stretch them...but if it's short racing you are into, also consider gearing it for that type of race.

don't under estimate them in 660..they wiil go..most think they won't hook like a f-cat but they can..my buddy had a 02 and we run back and forth in 660, his is the only one that has ever given me a run and i know it's stock except clutching and gearing.. they like 8300-8400rpm....R2R

Sounds like clutching, clutching is everything in racing. Like LINMUP said, go to Totally Yamaha , there are guys there that would be glad to help. As for gearing, I went one tooth bigger on top(small) gear, everyone said I would lose bottom end and I understand why, but it actually made it quicker out of the hole. I have 2 other SRX's that we compare mods/ clutching changes and I would pull 1-2 sleds right out of the hole every time after I geared up.

Good luck I had them both at the same time and the F7 would walk the SRX all over the place. My 03 F7 dynoed at 143 hp all stock, thats a little more power than an SRX and about 90 lbs lighter. Everyone stopped running the SRX for a reason and that reason was the F7.
