Posting for a friend here. My friend has a 2004 SKi-doo Summit 550. It keeps burning out headlights. He has been using 60/55 watts bulbs too alright. We put a brand new Regulator and a week later, headlights went again. I read somewhere that we should change a small black rectangular box called a relay or something near handlebars somewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

went thru this with a 550f mxz 2005 and it was the regulator. there is no relay on fan motors I was told. there is a fuse on the ground side that if it is blown will cause the regulator to over charge and blow your lights. my fuse was by the left head light bulb.

Put the spare fuse in it. Still going through bulbs, one per week. Don't what else it could be. There alot of these bombardiers going through headlights up here in the north. Very bad.
