Or even just prevented the smart valves from ever closing for whatever reason?

What is the process to remove the check valve? I've had the smart valves apart before. Just remember a spring and little plastic rod that ran down the middle of the spring?

Pop the smart valve apart and take out the white rubber washer (leave it out) and put it back together. Shouldn't ever have an issue again. I know some people that replace the stock springs with springs out of bic pens because they are stiffer and never had problems again also.

Oh, also some do remove the smart valves and just run the brass pickup with screen on it thats used in carbed sleds. It will suck a tank dry. I'm not sure if it would lean the sled out too much when you got really low on gas. Especially if you were doing off trail riding.

I never seen a reason for the smart valves anyways. To me they are just one more thing to go wrong. I am going to take out the check valves in mine as well!! Its probable why it burned down last year?? Thanks for the info!!

I used Ravenworks to do mine, local to the Minneapolis Metro Area. They did a good job and provided a printout of results (before and after). It was a quick turnaround.
