I have a 06 S/C 500, was wonderig if I took all the 4 shocks, springs, from a std firecat would that make it a firecat as far as riding, or more to it. With the F/C shocks, will that raise the sled up? I did the search thing, but really did'nt find the answer. Thanks

Yes you can. I did it. It doesn't really raise it much since shock lengths and springs are about the same. The rear torsion springs are the same on the standard Firecat vs Sabercat. I can't say there is a huge difference but it is a little firmer.

Thanks guys/gals
did you use the firecat shocks and springs. Reason I ask, and I may be wrong, but I think some years used the same shock, firecat and sabercat.

nope, i believe, firecat and sabercat shocks are totally different. had a 04 scat and put racing shox off a race sled in the front and rear. it was 100 times better. sabercat shocks are pretty shitty!

I don't think they ever used the same shocks. At least in 04 I know they didn't. I used crossfire front shock springs. Like them better than the old firecat springs. The comment about the front being stiffer after the change is probably true. I swapped the fronts out before I even rode the thing and did the rear skid the next season. The 04 front shocks were horrible with the plastic adjusters that easily break and the front shock springs were very soft. They used different front shocks in 05.

one of the differances between scat an firecat is squishy ride
firecat is firmer/sportier..scat is softer/touring ride
shocks are diferant. scat are non rebuildable
i run snopro fronts w/rez...major diferance..changed rear for reg firecat and noticed a little differance..might do snopro in rear eventually

maybe im wrong but isnt the seat part of the reason scats are "squishier" i thought scats have a softer seat foam different than the fcat?

my 05 and 06 has act rebuildable shocks on it. I think some of the early scats had rydefx shocks or something like that.
