Default Ski-Doo wobbly clutch patent?

I've been seeing on Facebook people showing skidoos clutch wobble. Then recently I saw this from skidoo saying it's intentional. Is this real? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this...

I was about to call BS until I read that they actually indexed the crank so it's in the correct spot haha.

That makes more sense then. I hope they never need to replace the clutch in the future lol so is it basically acting like a harmonic balancer then? I'd assume the wobble is non existent when the engine is running?

Except that they've been having belt blowing issues. Could be due to the wobbly inbalanced clutch and of course an aftermarket co says that's exactly the reason. One guy even put swiss cheese holes in everything to save the belts (so far it's working with the limited testing they had). It all sounds very familiar !

trying to reinvent the wheel and save weight...IMHO should have counter balanced it ....done......too much at stake...belts yes...maybe later a crank?

Yes it is real.

They say it is for vibration dampening and NOT the cause of the blown belts.

They are still investigating the belt issue.....

The wobble is more than just out of balance.

I can easily see how it would work quite well. I can also see why they would not be advertizing the heck out of it.

Default Noise at 5900 RPM

I have a new 850 and when I throttle up to 5900 to 6200 rpm I can hear a distinct out of balance sound coming from the engine/clutch. I have no idea what it is cause I cant simulate it sitting still....wtf!! I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the clutch design! anyone else hearing the noise?? Its annoying as hell and only starts making the noise at between 5900 and 6200 rpm.......
